Thinking globally
An internationally minded education at Ivanhoe Grammar School gives students the opportunity to develop critical thinking about complex international issues inside and outside the classroom.
This is something that learners of all ages need, for even young children come face to face with the controversial issues of our time through the media and modern communications technology.
Far from promoting one set of answers, an internationally minded education encourages students to explore, develop and express their own values and opinions, whilst listening to and respecting other peoples’ points of view.
Our curriculum supports the School’s focus on internationalism with subjects like Global Perspectives, taken at Year 10, which gives our students exposure to different cultures and world issues to assist them develop a deeper understanding of their world.
Another expression of internationalism within the curriculum context is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. This is available to students at the Ridgeway Campus as an alternative to VCE studies.
