Special guest Mark Squirrell entertained the audience at the recent Principal's Leaders' Breakfast with stories of his life of adventure since leaving Ivanhoe Grammar School.
Previous speakers have included former Premier and current Hawthorn Football Club President Jeff Kennett, former Chief Police Commissioner Christine Nixon and football coaching legend Kevin Sheedy.
This year's speaker was Old Ivanarian and humanitarian Mark 'Squiz' Squirrell who has climbed Mount Everest to raise funds for the United Nations World Food Programme. Mark graduated from Ivanhoe in 1989 and went on to serve with the Australian Army Commandos as well as work with the United Nations in providing aid to regions of conflict.
Mark proved to be an extremely engaging speaker, entertaing the audience with stories of the unique places and situations he found himself in during his journeys. The event was sold out with many of Mark's classmates attending to catch up with their old friend. Money from the event was raised for the UN World Food Programme.
